The Only Reasonable Response to Heidegger

Rob Wright, from legendary Canadian punk golems No Means No, reading from Heidegger's seminal Sein und Seit. I feel pretty much the same way about Heidegger.

I should add that probably the only really cool thing about me is that I have loved No Means No since I was 14 years old, which was, incidentally, when they were also 14 years old as a band.

It pains me that I just don't know enough about Heidegger -or in fact enough about the area to make sense of it- to really get this.

Oh well, not news, just further proof that you and Rob Wright are both a lot cooler than me.

No, no, no! The only thing to "get" about Heidegger is how IMPENETRABLE his prose was, yet a whole minor academic industry exists around trying to make sense of what he was saying. I love this video b/c Rob Wright is doing what everyone should do: regard it as a stupid, pompous Germanic joke.

And, criminy dude. We have always been exactly equally cool. Although it's true that Rob Wright is much cooler than both of us.
